New Networking Opportunity for CBAA Members!

Welcome,

We here at the California Bail Agents Association want to continue to be a leader in the bail bond industry in California and the United States. To that end, we are adding new programs and benefits that will help our members be the most informed and professional bail agents in the state.

This blog will be an important part of that effort to increase knowledge, ethics and professionalism in the bail bond industry.

Your input is not only requested but, required to meet that goal.

No longer should bail agents be looked upon as leeches, scumbags or loan sharks, barely operating above the law. Or worse yet, no better than the criminals we bail out of jail.

It is time that each and everyone of us put petty diffrences aside and stop looking at each other simply as competitors. We need to work together to inform the public, the law enforcement agencies, the courts, district attorneys and private attorneys, that we are a neccessary and very important part of the criminal justice system.

They need to know that we are are the only part of the the criminal justice system that is held financially accountable for our performace or lack there of, for every bond we write.

Several years ago, I was in a discussion about whether the bail bond business was “industry” or a “profession.” Some felt that since we did not have an educational degree like lawyers, doctors, accountants, etc, we were better classified as a industry, rather than a profession.

That was a good point, I thought, since we had and still have many bail agents that come to the jails or courts dressed like they are going to the beach or deer hunting.

You see, first impressions are hard to overcome. If we don’t look, talk and act professional, we will not be treated with the respect that many of us believe we deserve.

It is now time for us to work together to improve our public image and protect our businesses!

Join us by joining in.
