We’re kicking off this year by inviting every bail agent, bond agency owner, and surety company to support the California Bail Agents Association (CBAA). Our volunteer board tirelessly advocates for the bail profession, and we need your support—whether through membership or a financial donation.

Even if you don’t have time to volunteer, your membership or donation helps protect and strengthen Surety Bail in California.

This is a voting year, meaning your membership gives you the right to nominate and vote for your Executive Board and Board of Directors.

As we move into 2025, we plan and prepare for any legislative bills that could impact  Surety Bail. CBAA actively supports your right to bail through:

✅ Legislative Advocacy—Our lobbyist, David Quintana, works alongside other lobbyist from ABC, Aladdin, Bail Hotline, Golden State Bail Agents Association, and more.  CBAA’s legislative committee will be in Sacramento this month for another lobby day on your behalf to advocate for policies that protect 8th amendment, Right to Bail. We have a PAC Fund to support local and state representatives. We helped support Prop 36 by gathering signatures and making financial contributions from the board and members. We supported Los Angeles District Attorney, Nathan Hochman.

✅ Law Enforcement Education & Outreach—Our Board Directors visits local and state law enforcement agencies to discuss new legislation and the bail process. We also host Bail Agents and Law Enforcement Summits to strengthen our collaboration. We support Public Safety Victim groups by donating to and participating in fundraisers to support their mission.

✅ Education & Licensing Support – We have a 99% passing rate for our Pre-Licensing Classes and provide an excellent Continuing Education program for license renewal every two years (most will renew by June 2025).

✅ National & Statewide Industry Awareness – Legislative changes in other states can set precedents for California. That’s why we stay informed and connected at the local, state, and national levels by having monthly meetings with ABC and joining PBUS Monthly President Counsel Meetings with other national association Presidents.

✅ Camaraderie & Networking—We build a strong community through Annual Conventions, Bocce Ball tournaments, Town Halls (zoom and in-person), and committee opportunities. Together, we are a more substantial, united voice for the bail industry.
